Anna Szeberényi's attention is primarily directed towards color, perhaps the primary means of expression in the language of painting; on the other hand, she focuses on the coordination of differentiated surfaces created by different paint application methods, which she tries to organize into a unit. Thus, the picture is formed along the meeting of the spontaneously flowing surface and the measured, controlled image element, or the contact of the transparent, sensitive color field and the rough, textured gesture, and its organization into a unit.

From the most abstract layers of meaning to the par excellence use of materials, the intention to resolve contradictions, paradoxes, and extremes is present at every level. The clashing of black with white, water with oil, acts as an inner urge and a conscious experiment during the studio work.

The resulting images are primary painting problem propositions, as well as surfaces of interest examining the creative process and the relationship of the visual experience of the image with the outside world
